Customer Testimonials

August 13th, 2011

To whom it may concern,

I made the mistake of having someone else install my home entertainment center but was lucky enough to find Digitainment.

I have used Digitainment to update products and functions, balance my surround sound, adjust for best picture and boost my internet signal.

Service technicians are prompt and knowledgeable; I recommend Digitainment to everyone!

Best regards,

Tom

Our Process Your Install
Your Installation PDF Print E-mail

Typical installations are scheduled at 7:30 am, unless you've been told otherwise

A typical install crew has 2-3 installers

  • Job Lead
  • Certified Installer
  • Apprentice Installer

What to Expect Upon Arrival

  • Introduction to the crew
  • Walk thru with Job Lead
  • Collect estimated balance due
  • Room preparation (moving light furniture, covering furniture)
  • HVAC off and windows closed

Managing Job Cost Increases

  • Major changes will require you to sign an change of scope document to approve the changes and give you an estimated cost change (you can verbally approve, but must be approved before installers leave your home.
  • Several items on each job like speaker wiring, TV wiring, receiver setup, apple tv set up and network labor are variable line items and will be charged based on actual man hours
    • If we think there will be a variance of more than a couple hours, we'll discuss it with you first and discuss options
  • Changes in cable and speaker wire lengths can be significant
    • Sometimes a more cost effective or less invasive wiring path is determined during the install and may require longer wire or cables
  • Changes in scope
    • Connecting additional components like video games, vcr's, or other devices
    • Adding future phase quoted items in the current phase
    • Changes in location of TV's or equipment
    • No cabinet or cabinet with insufficient space may require additional trip to disconnect and reconnect later
    • Cable or Satellite not installed at time of install
  • We can connect and label cables they can connect to, but locating the emitter on the box and testing the remote cannot be done without another trip

Patching Drywall

  • We try to minimize holes that have to be cut, but once a single hole has to be textured the additional cost to texture a few more places is minimal in comparison to the labor that can be saved on the job
  • We patch any drywall holes by either filling in with lightweight spackle or screwing in a wood back brace behind the patch and screwing the drywall piece and filling with light weight spackle around the patch
  • It requires final texturing and painting
    • For south OC and SD jobs we recommend Don Frauenberger (click link to see our recommended trade professionals)

Clarifying Changes

If you are unclear about what changed, we'll be glad to provide you with a summary of changes

  • Labor
    • Most items are fixed, so unless some quoted item is not performed, there costs regardless of how long they take (shorter or longer) are charged based on that fixed amount
    • Variable labor lines are tracked independently and charged based on actual manhours
  • Equipment
    • Wire lengths are taken from the foot marklers on each cable
    • Cable lengths are detemined by what's actually used
